Hi my name is Maggie. After years of competition culminating at the Division 1AA level for 4 years and in two sports competition is one of my passions. My husband entered the military to satisfy his needs for camaraderie and team work, in a way I signed up as well. I, however, have been searching for a way to combine my love for team sports, people, nutrition and competition, that is until now.
These needs were met at Southington Crossfit. It is Southington crossfit that makes the difference, not crossfit in general. Each coach is such an intricate part in the chain of success for anyone who steps foot in that door. I have been to other locations to train where safety knowledge and humility is lacking. There is truly something special about this team of coaches. They genuinely care about all of their crossfitters. I have had the privilege of being coached by Bobby, Rosanne, Jon, and Matt. Every single one of these coaches has had such a positive impact on me and have all pushed me out of comfort zones! Some of the areas I have noticed drastic improvements in myself in regards to athleticism and overall physical fitness include ; increased lean muscle mass, lower body fat, lower body weight, increased RMR, increased muscular strength and endurance, increased dynamic flexibility, improved form with my Olympic lifts, increased speed/power, and definitely mental toughness.
My background is in Athletic training, exercise physiology Nutrition and an personal training. Having three beautiful children in three years can exhaust a body. Finding Southington crossfit where the combination of knowledge, experience and care for their crossfitters is rare. I have worked, trained and competed in many different areas since leaving school and this is by far the best! Try something new every day, if u can’t do something try it again tomorrow, push yourself to keep up with someone a little better than you, and keep persevering until you master the skills that are a challenge for you. I wish you all the best of luck in your training!!!!! Can’t wait for the competition in January!
