I am 22 years old times 2 but I feel better than I did when I was 22 yrs old times 1. One reason – crossfit. In 1989 I had a motorcycle accident and broke my back. I was almost paralyzed. Over the following 20 years, I couldn’t make it through the day without excruciating back pain. I gained 30 lbs as I got older. I would go back and forth between exercise programs but never saw sustained results or relief from my back pain. Until I met Jay Leydon at Crossfit Milford in 2008(yes, I know another plug for leydon). I told him my sob story and we got rolling. At first I could barely deadlift a pvc pipe from my knees. But now almost 4 years later I deadlift over 300 lbs with ease, can do a sub 3:30 Fran time and my back doesn’t hurt anymore. I can even stand on my hands with my daughters and pose for pictures. I have been a business coach and mentor for over 15 years. Now I am a crossfit coach and it is the most rewarding job I have ever done.

My journey and passion in health and wellness began at a very young age. We’re all influenced by someone and for me it was my Grandfather (aka Papa). He owned a gym in town and on many occasions this became my daycare. Growing up around someone that saw the benefits to exercise before there was even schooling on it was instrumental in who I am today. At almost 90 years young he’s still at it every day. Exercise/Movement truly is that “magic” pill that everyone’s been seeking. This passion drove me to receive a degree in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College and then ultimately start my career at ESPN as Manager of Wellness for the company. As one of the first fulltime wellness professionals at ESPN, I have enjoyed over 12 years of coming to work each and every day loving what I do. In addition to the corporate world, I have many years of experience in personal training, nutrition counseling, and strength & conditioning with collegiate teams. After many great years competing in various triathlon distances, marathons and even strongman competitions, I turned my energy towards CrossFit and have never looked back. My sole purpose as a coach is to provide an environment that fosters success and allows every individual to meet their goals. Ultimately feeling healthier, more capable to accomplish anything and experiencing the same “magic” that exercise has provided my Grandfather. I only hope to provide the same influence to my children and others.

My name is Jonathan; you can call me Jon or J either is fine by me. I have been personal training for 3 years but dabbling with fitness my whole life. I came across CrossFit in June of 2011 and haven’t looked back ever since! It is easily the next best thing to spaghetti and meatballs!haha If you don’t believe me all I ask is try it for yourself! To sum this up I have made fitness a way of life for myself and turned it into a career. My life is dedicated to helping others not only hit PR’s in the gym but also to make sure they are accomplishing a healthier lifestyle.

My CrossFit story starts back in April 2011. I wasn’t really in great shape to begin with. During a game of pickup basketball I tore my hamstring, which required surgery. After spending several months following the surgery lying on the couch in recovery, I found myself in the worst shape of my life. I was the heaviest I’d ever been, and simply felt unhealthy. At the beginning of 2012, I decided I needed to make a change. I began eating better and going to the gym consistently. I saw some results, but the ‘typical’ gym routine bored me easily. I gave CrossFit a try in May 2012 and after my first WOD, I was hooked. Working out was actually fun! Fast forward to present day, not only am I in the best physical shape of my life, I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been. Prior to becoming a CT Certified Police Officer in 2003, I spent five years in the sports medicine field preventing, diagnosing, treating and rehabbing injuries. In addition to being a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, I have a B.S. in Sports Medicine, have worked as a Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) and have certifications in CPR and EMR (Emergency Medical Responder). The functional movements regularly incorporated into CrossFit have helped me tremendously in my Police profession. Just getting in and out of the Police vehicle with 30lbs of gear on has become much easier. Now that CrossFit has increased my strength, speed and endurance, it’s much easier to catch and physically restrain a fleeing suspect. Overall, CrossFit has changed my life! I became a CrossFit Trainer to help others experience that same positive change that I did and become healthier. Now, it’s your turn! 3…2…1…GO!!!!!!
Hello, my name is Justin McEnroe; and no, I am NOT related to the famous John McEnroe. My temper is much worse and I suck at tennis. Just kidding I don’t suck at tennis! I have been a personal trainer for 3 years and an athlete since I could walk. My strengths tend to be “Picking things up, and putting them, OVER MY HEAD” (In my best Arnold voice). I have a background in Olympic competition and enjoy helping others perfect their technique in Olympic lifts and reaching new goals. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping an individual better themselves and watching them thrive in the gym. SCF is targeted in helping individuals obtain a better quality of life and higher standards of health. I can truly say I am honored to be included in that.

For me, CrossFit started 4 years ago, in a high school weight room where I teach, with only CrossFit.com’s workouts as my guide. After three years of Woding on my own I was thrilled when I saw a sign for CrossFit opening in the spring. In March 2013 I got my level I certification to be a CrossFit trainer. In the time since my certification I have had the honor of helping coach On -Ramp, in which I was thrilled to share my passion, knowledge and encouragement with a group of new recruits. I now regularly coach evening classes. For me, the best part of CrossFit is helping people change their lives for the better.

I’m Ellie, (you can call me Eleanor if you are my mom or dad) otherwise Ellie it is. I’m a mom of two mini-beasts, a nurse, and a CrossFit coach.
I started CrossFit September of 2012, after approximately 15 years of working out independently through different methods. I quickly saw the benefits of programming and being properly coached. 6 months later I was in better shape than ever (including pre-pregnancy shape). More amazing than that, after years of trying to build a body I could be proud of, I finally felt confident! Confidence based on what my body could do, not just what it looked like. That is an empowering feeling. I want to help everyone feel that, and that’s a major goal of mine as a coach.
My pre-CrossFit background included teaching hip-hop for 10 years, playing any pick-up game of any sport other than basketball, and lifting heavy weights in any garage/basement/gym I could find.
I LOVE food, love eating it, love talking about it! If you want to talk about food/diet/nutrition I’m here for you. Now all that’s left to do is set some goals, and crush them!!!

I graduated from the University of Tampa with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Allied Health in 2011. I found CrossFit in early 2012 and it completely transformed my life. CrossFit has taken my fitness to the next level and has shown me my body can do more than I ever thought. I have seen through CrossFit just how far dedication and hard work can take you and I continue to push myself and make new goals every day. As a coach, I love helping people see what their bodies are capable of and showing them that they CAN have the confidence to do it! Whether it’s being able to do a pull-up or moving from a 16” box to a 20” box, I enjoy when people are able to make progress towards their goals. The body is capable of more than the mind can imagine and once we accept that we can be comfortable outside of our comfort zones, the possibilities are endless.
