This is that time of year when it is tradition to look back over the past year and reflect on the good times, the tougher times, the highs, the lows, the triumphs, and the defeats. What we are supposed to do with all of that is a bit of a mystery to me, except to learn from all of it and hope it helps to living the best life we possibly can. On the contrary it is also that time of year when we eat, drink, (and stressed all at the same time) and create lists or just a few New Year Resolutions for 2015.
After a lot of thought…living in the past longer than just picking out a few lasting memories and life lessons and living for the future with unrealistic expectations may be a recipe for disaster. So what I have learned is to live in the “RIGHT NOW.” Wow what a concept. Live for right now. Read another book to your wide eyed child right now, listen to your favorite song before shutting off the car right now, bang out anther ten double unders right now. Nothing can change the past and there is no guarantee on the future and what it holds.
Enjoy every second with your family and friends. Enjoy every second of life living it. Don’t take anything for granted!
